Thor Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 Hello everyone, I've been thinking about buying one of these lovely pieces for some time but just haven't got round to pulling the trigger. Then I saw this offering from TWG and the price just galvanised me into action. However, before I jump, I thought I'd ask the experts. TWG has some nice watches and some amazing prices but I've also had the sense that the sometimes the quality isn't quite (no a criticism just a reflection that you get what you pay for) up to the other dealers. However, assuming that you have to modify most watches to really pass the expert's eye (I work with a few) does it really matter. What would you have to do to this watch to past the test? Any idea what the modifications would cost? http://photogalleryforum.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=1132 For starters, the case is too shallow so you're lacking the deep rehaut of the gen. The shallow case also results in the dial sitting a tad too close to the crystal which adds to the problem of weak date mag. Added: It is a very nice looking watch & a great value! However, if your wish it to pass expert scrutiny, that will not e easy with any Rollie rep. It will take the cream of the crop plus the normal mods which would be far more $. Happy Holidays! Jet I love mine I have the Andew's black version on the way. It looks really good to me. I only bought it for the case, as i plan to tansplant one of my LV's (ETA movement, dial, hands, and if necessary the crystal) into it. This is a very good deal for the price. As you spend more money you will get small improvements in appearance.
