steviemeatballs
I have seen a few PAMs with the guard upside down IMO i.e. with the actuator arm folding out from the bottom. I know that the guard can be inverted by undoing the two screws and reattaching but is there a 'proper' way? Cheers.
jkerouac
Welcome to the forum, Stevie. You are going to have me looking at pics to refresh my memory. But I don't recall ever seeing a crown guard arm swing out from the top. To be clear, on my 192, the tip of the locking arm ends up in the vicinity of 4 o clock. "Swinging out from the top" suggests to me that the tip would be around 2 o clock. And what do you mean by "a proper way" -- do you mean a proper way of inverting the crown guard? steviemeatballs
Right. Yours is like mine. sssurfer
That inverted CG is supposed to be that way. Don't try to invert it, as: there are writings that would end up in the bottom face; if you invert it, the lever could press the crown off-center and this would stress the crown. The only problem with CGs whose lever is pointing down is in case of loose lever. When you wind the watch (lever pushed up), a loose lever keeps falling down and this is a great annoyance on winding. Better to fix the loose lever than to invert the CG.
Finepics
All of the 44mm Luminor Marina series, GMT's, PWR Res and subs etc have the CG lever pointing up. All of the Chronograph models have the lever pointing down as does the fiddy and other 47mm models.
Watchmeister
Hey Finepics- I was waiting for someone to point this out. By the way, if archibald posts next we will have finally gotten the "watchmen" all together at the same time.
