Brushing crown guard on PAM005

Tomorrow I'm going to pick up a scouring pad and brush the crown guard on my 005.

I assume the brushing should be done top to bottom so that any markings are vertical, but are all three sides brushed, ie front, back and the side edge as well?

Also consider using an ink eraser (that is, a rubber eraser for removing pen ink). It leaves a very nice, fine brushed finish on stainless steel. That's what I used for my 005 and I'm happy with the results.

That's worth a try - I've done it using a scourer but I'm not really happy with the result. It just looks like dull grey metal and the scouring pad disintegrated quite nicely!

Feek,

Can you please post pics of the finished guard. Also want scourer did you use. Will a green pad work or do I need a steel wool to get the job done. Thanks.

Yes, the scratch pen really provides excellent results.

Too bad the Watch Boys are not offering it anymore.

You can still find it here:

Italian provider for scratch pen

Just do wear rubber gloves when you use it, since it is made of glass fibers and it leaves LOTS of micro-splinters on your work table and your fingers...
