truthrocket Posted July 10, 2007 Report Share Posted July 10, 2007 Here is what I have recently found out. The new reps are based on the recently redesigned Datejust model number 116234 not 16234. Has anyone worked on these yet? Is it to early to find parts for this piece? I am looking to start my first mod. I have a Datejust 116234 rep I bought from Andrew and looking to replace some of the parts with gen parts. I have a few questions so I can better understand what my options are. 1. Will I be able to put the 116234 gen dial in my rep. (This is a new model type case and not the 16234, this one is the 1162234) I only emphasize on this because I haven't heard to much about this model on the boards. 2. What is the ring that is on the inside of the case, that has the words ROLEXROLEXROLEX inscribed on it, called? 3. Can I raise the crystal height? I feel it is to flush with the watch. Besides that I can't think of anything else. If you have any suggestions please let me know. Thanks, TR P.S. I am thinking about modding a UPO if all this goes well. stilty Posted July 10, 2007 Report Share Posted July 10, 2007 I've got a new gen dial out of a 2006 watch. same size as the older dials. 27.8mm. The difference is the lume. It fills the whole marker, similar to ex-1, or other sport models. glows like a torch! I fit it in a gen 16220 case circa 1993 and it fits fine. They are not cheap though.
