cableguy Posted July 14, 2007 Report Posted July 14, 2007 its not clicking into place =( what can i do.....
2005SUBMARINER Posted July 14, 2007 Report Posted July 14, 2007 dont quite understand , what cant stay in the watch ? the stem or crown ?
cableguy Posted July 14, 2007 Author Report Posted July 14, 2007 the stem doesnt click into the watch? the crown is on the stem properly... but when it put the stem back in, it doesnt lock into place so it just falls out when i unscrew the crown (watch keeps running, cant set time etc) i wanna cry lol
Bazz Posted July 14, 2007 Report Posted July 14, 2007 I presume it is a 28XX mov? What did you use to push in the set lever? Could you have pushed it to far
cableguy Posted July 14, 2007 Author Report Posted July 14, 2007 yes and actually, i cant put the stem in all the way..... do u have to push the lever in to release AND replace the stem?
2005SUBMARINER Posted July 14, 2007 Report Posted July 14, 2007 you sunk the keyless works , but have no fear BAZZ is here !
Bazz Posted July 14, 2007 Report Posted July 14, 2007 I do Is it in the case? maybe it is not lined up correctly.
cableguy Posted July 14, 2007 Author Report Posted July 14, 2007 i think i broke it =( suggestions? who could fix it for me? i have no local watch repair guy, The Zigmeister and flav are booked till sept =( should i just order a new one?
cableguy Posted July 14, 2007 Author Report Posted July 14, 2007 I'm so sick right now...that was my favorite watch. =/
Bazz Posted July 14, 2007 Report Posted July 14, 2007 Im still not sure what the problem is, if you pushed out the set lever the stem should be able to be pushed in and out without catching. The stem has to go through two gears, have you tried twisting the stem a little clockwise and counter colckwise?
cableguy Posted July 14, 2007 Author Report Posted July 14, 2007 actually, i just did that..and it goes all the way in....but doesnt catch on anything and it can come right out..... so its like the button i have to press to get it out, isnt needed to be pressed did i push the button in too far?
cableguy Posted July 14, 2007 Author Report Posted July 14, 2007 is there an easy fix? or am i gonna hve to send it away.
Bazz Posted July 14, 2007 Report Posted July 14, 2007 This is the under side to the button you pressed, here you can see the set lever, These three parts all line up together. When you push the button to far the middle piece on the set lever will not hold onto goove on the stem, which in turn means the stem can be push in and out.
cableguy Posted July 14, 2007 Author Report Posted July 14, 2007 hmmm thats under the dial? so remove hands, dial and i should see that?:
cableguy Posted July 14, 2007 Author Report Posted July 14, 2007 screw it, im gonna part it out and order a new one.....if i decide to mod the new one its going to one of our modders... lesson learned. =/
Bazz Posted July 14, 2007 Report Posted July 14, 2007 Take it to a watch repair place, no problem for them to do. I would not recommend trying it yourself as way to much can go wrong if you dont know what your doing and have no equipment etc etc. also remember these are macro pics, some of the parts are pretty small. Even if you were to remove the hands and dial without any damage you still have to remove the date wheel then the keyless works cover etc. With the dial off it will look something like this You would need to get under 6 on the date wheel. I dont think you need to part it out just take it somewhere local, good luck
Amplitude Posted July 14, 2007 Report Posted July 14, 2007 screw it, im gonna part it out and order a new one.....if i decide to mod the new one its going to one of our modders... lesson learned. =/ Don't part it out, it's a 20 minute fix max. Take it to a watchmaker.
