Im still not sure what the problem is, if you pushed out the set lever the stem should be able to be pushed in and out without catching.

The stem has to go through two gears, have you tried twisting the stem a little clockwise and counter colckwise?

This is the under side to the button you pressed, here you can see the set lever,

These three parts all line up together. When you push the button to far the middle piece on the set lever will not hold onto goove on the stem, which in turn means the stem can be push in and out.

Take it to a watch repair place, no problem for them to do.

I would not recommend trying it yourself as way to much can go wrong if you dont know what your doing and have no equipment etc etc. also remember these are macro pics, some of the parts are pretty small.

Even if you were to remove the hands and dial without any damage you still have to remove the date wheel then the keyless works cover etc.

With the dial off it will look something like this

You would need to get under 6 on the date wheel.

I dont think you need to part it out just take it somewhere local, good luck :)
