Replacing 'Asian 21j auto' in a 40mm Pam?

Recommended Posts

I'm very tempted by Joshua's new blue dial Pam 120, but am a little worried about the 21j Asian auto that comes in them. If it had a center seconds it seems swapping out the movement for an ETA would be reasonably easy, but with the 9:00 subdial is there a better movement that can be fitted?

Arrrgh - more Asian movement paranoia.

I am wearing a 090 rep with the very same Asian 21j movement you are sweating over. Not only is it very accurate, it is also based on the ETA 2892 movement, which is a fundamentall better design than the 2824 you'd probably end up swapping in (as 'replacement' 2892s are rarer and considerably more expensive).

Order the Asian, enjoy it, and get over the idea that ETA=better.
