AMK000 Posted August 5, 2007 Report Posted August 5, 2007 Hi guys , Last night I was trying to resize my TAG HEUER GMT Link .... and I broke
PAMman Posted August 5, 2007 Report Posted August 5, 2007 I broke mine as well - you should be able to get one locally from any decent jeweller / watch shop. You need a 9mm springbar - just try to get one the same thickness as the one that you broke. I didn't have any problem at all as the first shop I went to was able give me one straight away.
AMK000 Posted August 5, 2007 Author Report Posted August 5, 2007 Thanks for the answer. Will propably do that .. though now in Aug is everythinhg closed. If nothing comes up from a member here , will try a local store in Sept.
dafwog Posted August 6, 2007 Report Posted August 6, 2007 I broke one too - this is obviously a common problem. However I have another rep that uses a pin that goes right through rather than a spring pin. Adopting this idea, I cut a piece of paper-clip to size (slightly narrower than the bracelet) as this was just the right diameter to fit the hole, put a small bend in it with pliers to make sure there would be some tension and then inserted it. It's not perfect, but has been in use for some time now with no problems. I'm not convinced I feel happy with my link being held on by a paper-clip mind you, but as long as it doesn't drop off...

TmeShare Posted August 8, 2007 Report Posted August 8, 2007 One of the best things I did when I started playing with watches is bought a containers of spring bars that range from 5mm to 22mm. You can find them on e-bay and it is a worthwhile investment. Most watch shops do not carry really small or really large sizes. TimeShare
Ghetto2315 Posted August 9, 2007 Report Posted August 9, 2007 That is the VERY FIRST thing I replace when I get a new Tag rep. I replace THAT specific spring bar with a 9mm of better quality. The ones that come from the rep factory are pure junk!
