The Russian exorcism made me think of how little separates us from the terror and chaos of our own implosion as 'rational' beings...the fragility of civilization - and the jnpenetrable darknesss of the human soul...

Less from the standpoint of difformity or mutilation than from the atmosphere of the recording itself: definitely another time and place, way back there...Edwardian - even if the singer in question is Italian - and not terribly further removed in time than Merrick's own death in 1890.

Whatever.

Anyway, it's grossly unfair of you to expect me to make any sense!
