predfan2001 Posted August 27, 2007 Report Posted August 27, 2007 (edited) When I ordered my Silix Sub, I went ahead and ordered one of their vintage style riveted bands. I thought it would be a simple swap out but, boy was I wrong. When mine arrived I removed the modern style oyster band that came on the watch. When I did remove it, the springbars fell apart and they were all bent up. I thought I had bent them but it turns out the lugholes are drilled too far inward so who ever installed the band had bent them. I quit and installed a NATO strap: Not being one to give up, I gave it another shot tonight. This time I bent the new springbars slightly on the ends. I used 2 pairs of pliers and put a slight angle at the ends. I made sure the ends of the springbars would still spring out. I then installed the band and used a small screwdriver to guide the ends to the holes. I'm amazed but this took all of 10 minutes and the band is secure: Edited August 27, 2007 by predfan2001
yt74 Posted August 27, 2007 Report Posted August 27, 2007 I wonder if you drill the lugs out to take 2mm springbars if this will still be an issue?
