Anyone collect stamps?

Anyone here collects stamps? I have a book of stamps here, but I'm not sure if it's worth anything. It's sort of a tragic story how I ended up obtaining this stamp book.

My friend used to own this stamp book. He was a pretty happy guy who wanted to start a restaurant business, so he took out a loan and got it going. Anyway, about 6 months ago his business went belly up. But prior to that, he and his wife seperated due to unfaithfulness (his wife, not him). Then came a chain reaction of bad things happening to him.

After the failure of his business, he got into a car accident and injured the nerves in his neck. So he's had neck problems since, and living in a lot of pain. Well, about a week ago, his mom passed away from colon cancer. So now he's got funeral bills to worry about.

He decided to sell his house and move into a small condo to settle some debts and help pay for the funeral. So I was over helping him pack stuff up.

I came across this stamp album. He looked at it and said "I don't want it." I asked if it was worth anything, and he said he didn't know and didn't care.

I honestly don't know if the stamps are worth anything, but most the stamps look pretty new...so I'm assuming it's not worth much. Regardless, I was wondering if anyone here on the forum would be interesting in purchasing this stamp book. If you see something that's of worth, maybe make me an offer and let me know, and I'll send it to you.

I prefer to sell the entire book if possible. I don't really want to spend time sending individual stamps out. Plus I know 0 what needs to be done when sending stamps. Oh and someone told me not to touch the stamps, so I didn't.

If you're interested, I'll post pics of the collection. This post is just to gage the forum's interest level.

EDIT: Whatever money you give me I am planning to give to my friend. I am not keeping this money. Sorry, forgot to mention that. :)

sorry to hear about your friend... i had a passing interest in stamps when I was younger... looked at your friend's collection, nothing special, as most of the stamps are from the 1980s... the only exception MAY be the Malaysian stamp with the Kanji characters on it, which states "Japan Post, 6 cts", this would most likely have been from the 1940s, when Malaysia was under Japanese occupation, that one may be worth something.
