launchnukes Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 my hbb has some bad smudges on the inside of the front crystal. How do i take out the crystal to clean it? i made myself an "H" screwdriver so i have that. any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
geo1nah2a Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 You sound like ready for some adventure. Your best bet is not to pop the crystal out but instead work from the inside.. Open the back, remove the stem, remove the movement, clean the crystal, and then reverse the process. Be very careful not to damage anything or leave more marks (prints&dust) than what you came in for.. You will not be able to remove the crystal by removing the bezel. Good luck, and post some pics. If you need any extra help, just ask PS: You might be better off leaving this to someone who has opened a watch before.. Like a local watchsmith. Or try this on a cheaper rep.
launchnukes Posted September 26, 2007 Author Report Posted September 26, 2007 thanks. i've opened my watches quite a few times so i'm not too worried about that. i just thought that the bezel was attached to the crystal. haha. boy was i wrong, so i figured i'd ask before i started taking it apart. so i guess going in from the back is the best way. Thanks.
launchnukes Posted September 27, 2007 Author Report Posted September 27, 2007 well, i did it. thanks for the help guys. this watch looks a million times better without the smudge! thanks again.
