I've used Jack at IWW several times. He's PVD'd (DLC) a few Panerai cases for me and other Panerai collectors. It's actually DLC which is what Panerai used for the now fameous PAM00195 and what other companies use today. PVD has a metalic shine while DLC has a matte finish. PVD can is done by VACOR AG who did the PVD on the original Panerai A and B series cases. Below are links to both companies and a pic of my 195 (DLC case) and a custom Panerai using a Panerai A series case.http://www.angelfire.com/blues/andcameysiww/Firstpage.htmlhttp://www.vacor.li/english/vacor.asp?id=32

Well known fact that IWW will not touch reps anymore.

At $600 + per case Jack will do any case. You just have to uncase it yourself and send him the parts. He says no reps because of the disaster when he shipped rep parts to gen owners when he got 30 watches and had to uncase them. But if you send the parts and don't mention rep it will all be fine. Just don't be dumb enough to organize group buys.

$600 to PVD(correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe that Jack does DLC anymore) a watch, particularly a rep, is insane!!

I'm investigating PVD/DLC options right now. I've put out many inquiries, and have found a few industrial shops that are willing to take on individual watches (some have experience with watches, and some don't).

Pricing is determined by how flexible the shop is willing to be: I've been told that a chamber run of DLC costs a bit over $800, plus necessary fixturing. The chamber can accomodate 50+ watches. Some shops, who apparently don't want to take in individual pieces, have quoted me from $800 to $1200. However, there are others who are willing to put my watch in with another run. In these cases, I've been quoted from $60 to $100. (These prices do not include the prep work, which I've done myself, and bead blasing, which ran me about $45. These shops will just clean and coat the parts).

I'm about to ship off a watch and bracelet for DLC treatment. If all goes well, I should be able to report back within the month.
