I was at the MB AD today and they gave me a catalog of upcoming models. I want to say that was in it but I forget. The catalog is in my car and I'm too lazy to go check it right now

Oops! My bad. My wife had the car that day and the catalog was in it. I forgot about this.

I'm looking at the 2007/08 catalog right now and this exact watch is on page 40. Well, mostly exact. It seems the black dial with AUTOMATIC only comes in a SS/Plat/WG/something silver case. The black dial in the gold case has the word CHRONOMETER instead. The rest of the dial is like the gen except for this wording.

Gen is $3200 list and you can find them (rare) used at timezone for 2k.

You must be talking about the SS model. Good luck finding the RG for that price. It's MSRP is $13K; so I'm going to safely assume that on the second hand market it could go for 9K.
