gloss coating for pearl

There was a thread from a while back that talked about a clear coating that could be used to put a shine on an otherwise OK pearl. For some reason I think it cured with UV light....but that's just from bad memory.

I've searched and can't find the post.

Does anyone remember what this was?

Drying with UV is crystal glue--not sure if you can get it thick enough for pearl use, as it thins out & blends in too much. Try GS Hypo cement. You'll need to do it under a mag loupe with a steady hand; don't worry if you botch it up--you can take a Q-tip dipped in nail polish to remove the wet hypo-cement.

It's worked good on older my pearl's, but it really is worth the $ just to buy the already-varnished pearl inserts:
