flyback Posted May 30, 2006 Report Posted May 30, 2006 hi, waiting for my movement/ relumed dial from The Zigmeister, i worked a little this evening on my davidsen pvd case... i have cut the stem to the right lenght (using a spare unitas to test the lenght) and screwed the crown. it works, not so bad for a first time! need an advice: is it useful to use some "loctite blue"to "secure"(hope it's the right english word) the stem to the crown even it's screwed? and by the way using "loctite blue" to secure crownguard little screws? thanks!
sssurfer Posted May 31, 2006 Report Posted May 31, 2006 As far as I know, all manufacturers permanently secure the stem into the crown tube with some (non-reversible) glue. You may want too, unless you plan to unscrew the stem again in order to re-use it or the crown. As for the crown guard screws, I personally don't secure them. If you want to, be sure to use a reversible, non-colored glue.
