munsterh
Hi there, I have browsed around and looked but I am not sure whether there is good advice available online how to best strip the AR coating from sapphire crystals. I have tried chieftangs method but was not successfull. I have heard armor eche could be a possibility but am not sure whether it would riun my crystal. If anybody has some suggestions let me know. munsterh
subzero1
Get some Mothers Mag polishing paste, apply to a rag, rub vigorously over the crystal for 5 minutes. Poof, no more AR. Works better than the lacquer remover and far better than cape cod.
HauteHippie
The polishing paste method sounds like a winner to me. Lacquer thinner and steel wool works like a charm for me, but it's nice not to have to handle a solvent.
