spookycord
I remember this being discussed before but I searched to no avail. The question is: Is there an easy fix to the recessed datewheel issue on an Asian 7750 mvmt besides swapping to a 7753 of course. Can someone shed some light as to why it's recessed and what can be done to fix it if anything?
Watchmeister
Assuming you are talking about the date between 4 and 5 there is no fix. There is a plate above the datewheel on that configuration. And a 7753 doesn't help you unless you have a dial made specifically for the 7753 movement with the correct date window placement. docblackrock
As Kruz says, it's a plate covering the transfer gears that modify the standard 7750 '12' register to the '3' position. Not quite true re. fix though, it just involves removing said transfer gearing (crippling your chrono in the process of course), removing an intermediate spacer, and you can get the DW nearer the dial. Still not perfect though.
andreww
Too bad the 7753s are so rare and expensive. In all my years on the boards I have yet to see a Navitimer transplanted with a 7753 and a gen dial. You would think somebody would have tried this by now?
