Maintenance Questions?

Question for you folks?

How long would a maintenance be performed on a watch that is only used two to three weeks a year?

Does the movement matter?

Is it ok for a watch (Movement) not to be used often?

I and most of the newbies here would appreciate the info. Thanks!!!

i'd service it right after you get the watch (you never know if it was properly lubricated at the factory) and then every major overhaul 3 years. 5 years service is recommended for movements in gen watches.

btw, i love your avatar!

Most internal combustion engines should have their oil changed once every 3 months for optimal performance & longevity, regardless of whether they are used or not.

Most mechanical movements should be disassembled/cleaned/lubricated/adjusted once every 5-7 years for the same reason.

How long has it been since you changed your oil?
