The rep dial on the black one is quite good (imho). I have one of those coming and I'm happy with the rep dial personally. I don't think swapping to gen dial is that important (on the black version).

The white dial version is problematic because the "surroundings" of the rep hour markers are grey. That's a huge flaw, because they should be jet black. Thus... the gen dial exchange is essential to get a proper white version. The black one has silver surroundings on both gen and rep.

Sorry guys, i forgot to ask..is it just the diameter that is of concern? What about the feet on the gen dial? Would it be similarly placed on certain reps etc?

I got mine from BKL1234 and i liked it. Like By-Tor i like a white one to make one pair.

Ebay is pretty much the only option. That's where our members have found them.

Just FYI:

I finally managed to get the black version of this legendary rep (same as Avitt's watch in the review), and it's just as good as I always said. No mods or dial replacements are needed, it's superb otb.
