Working in UK: Migrant Programs: anyone know..

This is a longshot, but I know there are a few UK members that may be able to help me out.

Basically I am a US citizen and I am trying to get a job in the UK. I have interviewed with and I am somewhat close to being offered a position with a company in London. The issue is that the company is new, small and will not go through the process of getting me a work permit. I have to supply my own.

The UK has a program called the HSMP or Highly Skilled Migrant Program. Now I may, or may not be eligible for this program. My situation is a bit complicated because I was working already working in the EU (Czech Republic) for the last three years.

Does anyone happen to know about any of these immigration laws or perhaps know someone I could speak to?

Have you tried looking at the corresponding official government website? They usually list the reqirements etc. and should have a contact person/number listed.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I looked, but my situation is a little hairy. I suppose I'm just looking to see whether anyone knows someone who works in immigration in the UK. Possibly an immigration lawyer or consultant whom I could hire...
