  1. So I somehow lost the Helium valve on my Noob CrPO. I know that I can buy the OEM on ebay for around $100 or hope that something pops up in the parts section but rather than that, I'd like to buy a cheap PO and just fit the Helium valve from that watch and then keep or sell the donor for parts. Does anyone know if the cheap PO's for example this one on Toro's site: http://www.tb-688.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=37_128&product_id=151 would fit a Noob CrPO?
  2. 10+ years into this hobby. Current state of the collection.
  3. Do we know for sure if these are being repped?
  4. Crossing over the big 40 today! Over the hill? Perhaps but enjoying a nice latte in Vilinuis, Lithuania.
  5. So many obvious tells but still love this one
  6. Opinions on this combo? Not sure if this looks right on a NATO.
  7. It's a liquid filled watch. There would be no way to get that done anywhere near our rep prices...
  8. I think you'll be waiting a very long time for this one...
  9. I have a PAM 111 H-Fac which has run into some problems. It kept on having the keyless problem where the crown would pull out but I couldn't set the time. This started happening after I had the watch serviced by that old member on here (forgot his name - but the scammer who kept everyone's watches). Anyways, I made the mistake of trying to fix it myself, I had issues getting to the keyless reset part and ended up bending part of one of the plates and in general just screwing up the movement. It could probably be fixed but I'd rather just learn how to replace the movement. Can someone please guide me on whether this is a good idea (cost wise) to try and replace the movement myself? I have no experience working on watches but would like to learn. Where can I find the right movement? I understand that it has the 6497 movement but how do I find the right one with the seconds at 9? Any advice or guidance would be highly appreciated!!
  10. Is that a gen or is the rep black BB out??
  11. Love this niche gen. Got a great deal on it also
  12. I get asked about my watches all the time. I live in NYC/Manhattan and work for a bank so I would expect it. Nobody has ever asked me where I got it or if it's real so I just go along with it. One guy at work asked me quite a bit about my tudor black bay. I was surprised he knew the watch. He asked if the crystal was sapphire and seemed really impressed when I said that it was haha
  13. Thanks- Hmm not even likes trendy color nato strap? Shoot I just don't want to dress it up. I'm pretty open about it being a rep and I want to wear it with jeans. Does it look ridiculous as it is?
  14. I have this Lange Sohne. I know it's a very inaccurate rep with a ton of tells but that doesn't stop it from having a beautiful dial which gets me compliments all the time. I like wearing it on weekend afternoons but I want a more causal strap for it. I put it on this weathered NATO strap but I don't think it looks quite right. There are too many buckles. Does anyone have any suggestions for a casual strap that would look good on this watch? Leather or fabric.. Thanks!
  15. Gen watches I get. That's all brand, marketing, prestige, the luxury experience in the boutiques etc. I'm more puzzled about the second hand market for just the parts. At this point all the smoke and mirrors of the luxury are gone and you just have this manufactured part. Besides people on forums like this who mod, who else is buying these and driving up prices?
  16. I'm still yet to understand why gen parts (particularly dials, some bracelets etc.) are so dang expensive on the bay. Can someone provide some insight? I understand that they are rare but who else out there is buying these things besides us?? Most of them don't contain any rare metals or jewels. It blows me away that a damaged dial from a relatively unknown watch will fetch upwards of $300. The market for these items must be incredibly small. I was just looking at a damaged Ingy dial on bay for $250+ and I was thinking to myself The average person walking on the street wouldn't take the time to bend over and pick it up! Most people think I'm nuts spending good money on watches, they think I'm extra nuts on spending good money on replica watches, I can't imagine how they would react if I told someone I bought a dinged up dial on eBay for a few hundos so that I could stick it on my replica watch! Besides watch parts, what other man made items like this hold so much value?
