  1. Ah ok thanks. Yeah toros deal on the ebel is great but not for me.. I'm looking to order a cartier bb for the gf and wanted to get a FM for myself so hoping to find a dealer with the best deal on those two..free shipping or a third watch thrown in would be great..
  2. Any of our TD's having a good holiday sale? I'm looking for something along the lines of free shipping, buy 2 get 1 free etc. type deals...
  3. I live in manhattan. If you want a good rep ill stand out on canal st and sell you a PO I have up in the trade section.
  4. Great collection ! but Can someone please explain to me what this happy feet deal is about? I'm sure it's explained somewhere in the omega section but if someone could just show or point me to a pic example it would be much appreciated!
  5. Will that DW fit in my standard Ingy?? If so then there will be a lot of happy Ingy owners out there who can't get their hands on a lello!
  6. I am in midtown west but taking the ferry back and forth will def add some real time to this. Not a big deal I don't want to change what's most convenient for the majority I will try my best to fit it in and meet up.
  7. I'm 50/50 as even just Hoboken will add a few hours of commitment for me but will try my best to make this.
  8. No worries about the crowd at the wine bar. You are not going to get any sketchy folks there it is not a party spot and the only people that even know about it are locals from the lux buildings around there. It is not a popular place for anyone except local wine lovers. It is very safe I can assure you. If we get there before 7-8 we will have the back area to ourselves. Just need to make sure there is no private party
  9. How many people? 8-10 right? Wine bar backroom should easily be able to accommodate, plus we can get up and walk around more easily than we would at the steak place - assuming we get there before the backroom fills up. Here is a pic of the space. http://imgur.com/a/VGPOq
  10. I'm not sure exactly what you are looking for but I can suggest a wine bar called "Ardesia" http://www.yelp.com/biz/ardesia-new-york. It's relatively upscale, nice/modern decor with a good wine and cocktail selection. More importantly it tends not to be very crowded on most nights which means we will have good space to bring out collections etc. Also given that the location is out of the city center parking should not be too difficult - street parking or garage are available. Cons are the food menu is limited - mostly just apps/wine pairings - if you are looking for a steak/large food options then this is not the place. Also, it is not extremely lively there will not be a lot of activity - mostly a date spot for couples. Also a bit isolated from bar scenes. Another suggestion is a steak house I like called West Side steakhouse: http://www.yelp.com/biz/west-side-steakhouse-new-york Pretty good steaks at a very reasonable price. Also tends not to get too crowded so we should be able to get a decent size table easily. Also near to Rest. Row bar scene which we can go out to after. Both are on the west side so hopefully easy for NJ people to get to. Let me know what you think otherwise I can think of more place. I personally prefer Ardesia.
  11. Mike, yup I think it's different around here now. I'm close to the circle line dock and intrepid area. Thanks for the ride offer but it sounds like we are going to be in nyc anyways? Thanks for organizing!
  12. I'm right across the Hudson in Manhattan (42nd and 12th ave) but would be willing to travel if accessible by PT. There are tons of places around me on rest. row 9th and 10th ave! I'm available the first half of Nov and Dec.
  13. 4:40pm local time, winds are getting pretty intense here in midtown manhattan. Already flooding from the hudson...hopefully my building won't get flooded!
  14. in manhattan right by the hudson, not much going on now just heavy winds...will check back in, in a few hours...Will try to take an epic wrist shot.
  15. +2 Anyone? I'm sure there is enough interest out there for someone who is entrepreneurial inclined to develop a solution!
  16. Thanks, both are really nice! But I work in a wall st. Bank so perhaps something a bit more classic? Also the gen should be reasonable say under 20k ( no Patek, Hublot etc). Any good iwc or jlc?
  17. Can someone recommend a great rosegold or gold with a black dial? I'm about to pull the trigger on a MB Timewalker Chrono with the combo, but just wanted to see if there was something else out there which I was missing. I'm open to most brands except Rolex & PAM. Was hoping there was a good Breitling or JLC rep out there which would fit the bill but can't seem to find one. I'll eventually put it on a brown croc strap. Thanks for suggestions.
  18. http://imgur.com/a/xTzAf I'm not exactly sure what to look for. The dealer did tell me not to post these to the forums, and I know it's bad form, but I could really use another set of eyes to look at them. I don't want to be petty but am I crazy for thinking the hand alignment is off (mins too far right)? Thanks in advance.

    QC

Hi, I've searched the forums in case this had been discussed before but did not find anything. What exactly should I look for when receiving the QC pics from the TD? Has anyone created a checklist of common flaws/defects etc? I've received the QC pics for my order and the dealer has requested I will not post the pics to the forums. I want to respect the dealers request but at the same time I want to make sure that nothing is wrong with the watch (at initial glance it looks OK). Any suggestions? I'd especially appreciate if someone with expertise would be kind enough to inspect the pics if I was to email them to him/her. I need to let the dealer know very soon. Thanks again from a noobie!
  20. Some background - I've been on the site for years, mostly as a lurker. I've recently made a first-time order from one of the top-rated "Trusted Dealers" on the site who has great reviews. I don't want to name the dealer or give too many details until I give him a chance to fix the issue I'm having but at the same time I want to get peoples opinions before it's too late and I've lost my money. The story - I made the order more for two watches more than 10 days ago, 3 days after I made the order and paid. I received a note that one of the watches was out of stock and the suggestion that I consider another similar watch. I said fine, and accepted the suggestion. Now I just received a message that the other watch I wanted is also out of stock and that I need to pick another! As you can imagine I'm very disappointed. I've paid a considerable amount of money, been waiting for almost two weeks and am not even going to get the watches I requested. At this point, I want to just get my money back and order from somewhere else unless this dealer can deliver. What should I do? Thanks
  21. I think there was an old post on finding rep-friendly service in NYC. I searched for it, but can't find it. Anyone know where the old post is, or where I can get service on my rep in Manhattan?
  22. Have you been to this? Is it as good as it sounds? I'm local to NYC, so I'll check it out with a friend.
  23. Hey guys, I'm a newbie and a local. Is anyone going to bring any watches they intend to sell? I only own one rep at the time and would love to use this GTG as an opportunity to expand my collection.
  24. Hi Bryana, Actually no, I haven't seen that exact site and it does look to be more comprehensive than the others I came across. Thanks! I'll have to pour over this one for a bit.
