I know that I'm breaking a cardinal rule here but I have a side gig as a mystery shopper and my next assignment is a AD. Not a common brand of ours - Piaget but for those who know it is quite a high-end brand. I need to go in there pretending to buy a watch and this of course means looking the part. Unfortunately all I own are reps! I have a Pam 111 a Pam 288k an iwc Ingy (not modded) and hublot all black. I'm leaning towards one of the Pam's. And if the consensus is not to wear a watch at all I will try my best to respect that. But seems this mystery shop will go a lot smoother if I have at least something on my wrist!

Ah ok that helps. And you're right - I'm comparing AR and lume to the latest models. The lume on the 288k isn't bad but not exactly torch like although it lasts a surprisingly long time and AR is good but not at all angles. So my last question - is it worth getting the very latest from Toro?

I recently picked up this 288k and wanted to know what version it is, and what the flaws are. I really love the watch and if there is a better version id like to know if its worth upgrading. My only complaints on this one is that the AR and lume could be stronger.

Thanks! Actually all of the straps are stock! The hublot strap is just the gummy croc and the Pam's are the croc option on the 288k and the absoluteme on the 111.

Believe it or not, even with this small collection I never know which one to wear...

So last night my PAM 111 took a long drop onto the hard floor and now it doesn't work. Anyone have any ideas on what might be broken and if it's worth taking to a watch smith or should I just get a new one?

AR doesnt look that great. My biggest gripe with the reps has been the dial just doesn't pop like the gen due to the AR. Not sure if these are much better will anxiously waiting for release & reviews. Also will be nice when the non-cermaric POs start getting dumped on the sales threads!

Was thinking Trevor but Not 100% yet because I want to also order a FM at the same time and he doesn't have that watch. So I'll look and see. Wish I could just find one in the sales section but they don't pop as often as I would think considering they are so popular.

After I sold my WBK starter PO and realizing that I now like Omegas I've decided to finally go and pick up a v5. But before that I have a couple questions: 1. Is there a new version (v6?) or better ceramic/liquid metal version expected to come out in the near future? I really love the new gen ceramic PO's but it doesn't seem a rep exists yet. I've seen some talk on it being repped but not sure if this is really expected to happen. 2. Of the v5's I like the black bezel/orange numbers version but I have read somewhere that the orange/orange version seems to have the best QC amongst the three options. Does anyone know if there is truth to this? If so, is it easy to switch bezels back and forth on the v5's? 3. Who is the best dealer to get a v5 from? I've seen that Trevor has a great price but along with the PO I also want to pick up a FM Crazy Hours, which unfortunately he does not have in stock. By change anyone know where I could get a Trevor like price ($140) and who might also have the FM Crazy Hours? I hate ordering just one watch from our TD's - seems like a waste of shipping. Thanks for thoughts on any of these questions!!!!

I got my gf a 28mm cartier ballon bleu quartz rep and she loves it. There is a mid size which has an auto movement. These are spot on and are available and most of our TD's for around $200.

So a strap screwbar fell off today and I couldn't find it. What's my best option to replace? Anyone here have a spare I could pick off you for a few $s?

So this is one of those times I'm glad I only have reps. A colleague from work was wearing a nice Brietling Colt which I complimented. He told me that he didn't know much about watches but had picked it up on the cheap from a friend of his who needed to sell it. He said that although he likes it it was losing about a min a day. I asked him when the last time he got it serviced and he says he never has and didn't even know he had to. I told him to take it to the brietling shop and they'll be able to fix it up for him for a fee of course. He came back to me today and says he's not very happy because they said the watch needs a full movement overhaul, a new crown and a new caseback (??) and it will be $850 for all of this. Does this sound right to you guys? The watch appears perfectly fine so not sure why it needs a new caseback and the crown pulls out fine. My guess is maybe it got wet and or slightly warped somehow? He's going to go ahead and do the repairs but since he only paid $750 for the watch it seems a little ridiculous. Any advice I can give him?
