lawman Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 Is it possible to use a 111 movement on a 112? I know it will look wrong but will it work ok if it's going to be used with a dial with no seconds hand?
phaedo Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 Both are the 6497 movement, the 112 just doesn't put the running seconds @ 9 on the dial.

scoobs1971 Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 So could I just swap dials and it would work ok? Yes, but you need to disable the pinion that holds the seconds hand and will stick up against the dial. I'm not sure if simply cutting off the pinion will damage the gears... A month ago there was a similar topic about this.
anton Posted March 22, 2008 Report Posted March 22, 2008 It's not that easy. You would need to add a running seconds wheel, which is probably not included in the 111 (if it is, then the post is filed down).

Maybe I should see if anyone would be interested in a trade then I think. A 111 swiss 6497 swan neck for a 112 version?
