no love for deployants?

I really like the idea of a deployant on the leather strap, esp on these panerai reps. Infact, its a feature i like most about the watch, just like the detail of a crownguard, and that the deployant follows the same shape of the crownguard, creating a watch that is very consistent in its design elements. esp when both match, be it polished and polished or brushed with a brushed deployant!

Taking a look at the awesome straps ppl have on their reps, i've noticed many are of the buckle style? is the deployant a work of fiction in the rep world? was it ever used on gen PAMs with leather straps?

I just find the deployant uncomfortable and I love the look of thick straps against a pam.

Deployants are used all the time on gen PAM's, especically on the luminor automatics. They give the watch a more modern look, while the buckles and thick straps give a more historic look. Both "work" depending on your preferences. For me, PAM's are historic, while a watch like the Big Bang is modern.
