Winding Watches

Hi guys,

I am having a discussion with a guy I work with about winding watches.

Lots of the replicas say that you should give them a couple of winds before you start wearing them and everytime they stop.

Should you do the same with a gen rolex? or any "automatic" watch for that matter (apart from a seiko which is all I could find using the search function)

Yes.

You should wind your watch a few times to get the thing going and then strap it on and let it finish the job.

No.

An automatic movement is not made for manual winding and will not withstand continued abuse.
