First step is to polish out the brush marks, and any case nicks and scratches:

Next, the threads and gasket areas are taped off (in this case, an old Omega Seamaster bezel fits perfectly to protect the crystal mating area):

Finally, it's into the chamber, and blast away!

The end results are well worth the effort:

...Now it off to be coated :tu:

What's it gonna get coated with?

This one's getting DLC applied by PVD.

That's a very nice job. What material did you blast it with?

Thank you very much. I used fine mesh glass beads on this.

Wow. You're gonna send that all the way to the UK? Are you in EU already?

I only ask because to can get DLC here in the states. My company sends engine parts all the time.

* ah nm. Thought you were sending it to PVD-Coatings.co.uk

No, no, no...not PVD a member, PVD the process (as apposed to PACVD)...Sorry that it wasn't clear. I am also using a US based coating vendor.

I'd like to learn more about the vendor that your company uses for engine parts (pricing, minimum orders, etc). Please PM me with any information that you can share.
