ryyannon
God, that's heart-wrenching! Where can we send the emergency Guiness rations?
SubFrog
Being from one of those mentioned flooded areas; this hits home...and reminded me of a similar thought. There is a bar in the French Quarter that hasn't shut down in over 20 years...open 24 hours a day. Katrina wasn't going to stop this tradition. They told everyone in the bar that the doors will be boarded up, but the libations would remain flowing. If anyone was interested in staying, expect to stay for at least 2 days. There were takers. They locked down and continued on through the storm...and it remains open today. Now THAT'S dedication...or alcoholism at it's finest.
