So I pulled the trigger and bought the Cartier Santos 100 two tone with the black leather stap, flaws and all. It's a cool watch and it will become a proud member of my collection. I know I am going to have to upgrade the stap, so I am wondering if anybody has any ideas? I figure it for a 22mm or 24mm, but I don't want to put on a honking big think Pannie strap, because I don't think it will look right. I already checked out the Cartier store on Michigan Avenue and I am unwilling to shell out $329 for the real deal.

Beany appreciates any ideas for sourcing! Thanks.

You will find that the Santos 100 has a rather interesting lug area. The strap is built to blend in to the shape of the lugs. I have both a non chrono and a chrono with 7753. Unfortunately, I also think the replica strap is crap. BUT, I also found that putting a regularly shaped strap on the watch didnt look good either.

Eventually, I will buy a gen strap and switch them out when I want to wear one.

What he said.

HKTan is the way to go.

Regular straps look bad on Santos.

@cbr - Non Chrono Santos 100 strap does not fit Chrono Santos - you will have to buy two straps...

contact HKTAN and get a gen croc strap custom made by him for half the cost. It's the best option for the santos

Sounds like it's HK Tan all right. Thanks.
