Binder for Lume powder

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

I know it's here somewhere but can 't find it. Search not much help either.

Can someone recommended another medium for binding lume powder? I ran out of the binder type II supplied by Noctilumina.

On another matter, have anyone tried readysetglow's latest glow paints?

Looks very tempting!!! my rep lume sucks big time.....

Kindest Regards

Siesta

Binders/varnishes that you can find in painting shops are good enough. Usually they also offer the choice between shiny or matte varnishes.

Even transparent, clear nail varnish may work.

I tried all the ReadySetGlo stuff, and I found it unusable to watch lume.

Their powder is unusable because of its gross grain. You need to mill it down to a finer grain and it negatively affects its glow time.

Their water based paints are even worse. Just powder in an acrylic medium.

Only exception, their glow spray. Good to relume sandwich dials. Especially in combination with their glow sheet. I posted my experience about it here.

Nocti has a new binder on their web sight type 3. Also a new pigment available this month, they appear to be marketing it as a competitor to SL and It's not cheap.

I have not used any of their products, but may get some new binder to try.

I think I did a comparison for their products. Superluminova still aces in terms of powder size, initial glow brightness and duration of brightness.

Yup saw your comparison but having problem with SL. They don't seem to be answering my emails. and I am still early in my modding journey. So don't want to waste money on expensive lumes only to screw em up (not that I can get hold of em in the first place...)

Thanks for the input guys.
