Simple cure

Hi Panerai fans,

I am posting this to help any noobs who may have the same problem. I bought a titanium cased panny from Davidsen for my wife and she was very happy but the lever that held the crown down became very loose very quickly and it stopped her from wearing the watch. She asked me if I could fix it but I have no specialist tools nor do I posess the skills. I have not done any more that change straps before. I hasten to add that the lever was flapping about willy nilly and was very annoying. I thought of various solutions and decided to try to file the feet of the bridge down to make the lever come in closer contact with the winding crown and hopefully solve the problem. I was not sure I could do this as I thought the feet of the bridge would be curved and make the job difficult. Also as I said I have no special tools. To cut a long story short I unscrewed the bridge and found that the feet were flat, so I rubbed each foot for a couple of minutes on a sharpening stone that I use for kitchen knives, refitted the bridge with the lever and hey presto the problem was solved. Apologies to the experts to whom this is probably perfectly obvious but it stopped my wife from enjoying the watch for some months and was so easy to cure I thought I would share it.
