casanile Posted June 23, 2008 Report Posted June 23, 2008 (edited) My girlfriend offered me my first gen, the last co-axial SMP. My favorite watch... I already owns three Omega reps An ETA 253180 The Asian 7750 259980 super rep with a gen bezel and insert, most of us knows this one very well... And Last but not least, An old factory clone ETA 2254.50, the one in the thread "Black SMP pro to good to be true" And do you know what I'm wearing today? My black rep... I was sure that the day I'll have a gen on my wrist I'll stop wearing anything else. Well, I was wrong... This hobby... RWG give us the top of the rep world Modded, best out of the box, AR, ti, 1.1, Ultimate, etc, etc. With all this knowledge shared and this possibility to have what we expect ( The Euromariner is an exemple) I have to admit that I'm a bit disappointed with my gen. Of course everything is Okay, the pearl is centered, HE valve is not dead at ten, there is 120 clicks and all that stuff will last, but in my hands I have not something very different than my reps. Visually, the quality is not better... So, I won't change my hobby. I'm happy to have this gen but not sure that I'll buy another one before a long time. So many close to perfect reps... I'll post pics of my collection very soon... Edited June 23, 2008 by antomarty
b16a2 Posted June 23, 2008 Report Posted June 23, 2008 Congratulations, the genuine is in my eyes a far cry from the reps, I have never come across one that has the fit and finish and the genuine look. Can leave this in a box for safe keeping and wear it on special occassions!
Guest carlsbadrolex Posted June 23, 2008 Report Posted June 23, 2008 Does your girlfriend have any available sisters that want to move to SoCal??? Im recently single again, and would love a girlfriend who fed my watch addiction!

scoobs1971 Posted June 24, 2008 Report Posted June 24, 2008 She have sisters, but you'll have to move yourself to Corsica!! Since I'm from the EU I'm closer to Corsica..... Does her sister love Panerai?
coolfire Posted June 28, 2008 Report Posted June 28, 2008 Congratulations on your SMP dude. Wear it in good health... I'm looking to buy this gen pretty soon too.
casanile Posted June 30, 2008 Author Report Posted June 30, 2008 (edited) Congratulations on your SMP dude. Wear it in good health... I'm looking to buy this gen pretty soon too. Thanks! Ok I have to say something new. Now I'm wearing it for one entire week and think I should change my subtitle. I really love it and I'd like (even if my rep is pretty good) to buy a gen 2254.50. Genuine are the ultimate stuff, but on the other hand this hobby is very ADDICTIVE. I have to be on RWG each day otherwise my wrists begins to scratch me As I said before, I'm rebuilding a 259980 super rep. Gen on my wrist or not, I'll finish it, waiting for the last gen parts: dial and hands. Gen bezel and crystal are already on it, can't wait to see the result... Edited June 30, 2008 by antomarty

I too, took the plunge on the 2220.8 0 yesterday... Just posted a short pictorial on it earlier. A real beauty I must say, it really grows on you with each passing moment of wearing... Good luck on your Super-rep!

coolfire Posted July 2, 2008 Report Posted July 2, 2008 Here are some pics of my Omega collection, the missing one is the 253180 rep The gen 222080 http://img55.imageshack.us/my.php?image=wah006rs0.jpg]http://img55.imageshack.us/img55/1608/wah006rs0.th.jpg Nice angle you took the pic from dude! One thing to note, don't you find the single-sided ar is a tad too light?

Did you saw the pics directly on the thread? me not. I couldn't so I removed them, I don't remember how to do that and where is the tutorial for uploads on RWG... You're right mate, too light it is...

Though the single ar is light, i feel that it is subtly doing its job... reflections aren't that bad... hmm.. Maybe it's due to the curved crystal...
