ETA2836-2 Stem replacement

Hi all,

I have a new Panarai GMT with ETA2836-2 which I liked very much. I have problem pushing the crown back after setting date or GMT time. Managed to open the caseback and poll the stem out. Found that the stem is damaged. The 2836-2 stem replacement is quite cheap. About US$3.50 a piece.

My question now is how do I separate the crown and stem?

Thank you very much.

Just grip the stem gently in a pin-vice or with a pair of thin snipe nosed pliers then simply unscrew.

Re-fitting to the new stem is the reverse of the above making sure you trim the new stem to the exact size of the original.

If you want you can put a drop of loctite on to make it more secure...
