dvn Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 The least troublesome car would be Lexus in my oppion. My Wife has a RX300 and it has been running without a problem since 2000. I have a Toyota 4 runner purchased new since 2000 and it has been running like a champ as well. Just did a major tune up and 4 new tires which cost me abour 1k or so. Japanese car is the way to go. Good luck to you all with your car selection. i have always think Audi is very expensive to own due to repair cost.
promotersf Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 I had an AUDI A8 years ago and I can attest, it is a fun car with kick for a large body...but the problem I encountered was with the AWD Quatro tranny...when it gave out, the dealer quoted me $11,500 for a replacement transmission. I went with another independent shop who did it for $7500, other than that the car ran like a champ without any issues. And for a V8, between city and highway I averaged 16+ miles...not bad.
