Fittting hands to other movements

For a very special project I will be using Omega date indicator hands for hours (white tip) and minutes (red tip). They need to fit a 218 tuning fork movt. Obviously, the Omega hands (check that big hole) will not fit without modification.

As far as I can see, this is the option:

Cut tuning fork movt hands down to only a few millimeters so that they fit INSIDE the hole on the Omega hand, supeglue in place. Then cosmetic surgery to hide/cover what
