yodap Posted September 2, 2008 Report Posted September 2, 2008 Hi! I ordered a daytona from my local dealer, and today it arrived, BUT: it has the old, slow beat A7750, secs at 6. I read The Zigmeister's teardown of this movt, and he wrote that the movement will die really early... What can I expect from this movt? Should i bring it to a watchmaker to oil it and so on? Thanks!

It's hard to tell. With the secs at 6...it's hit and miss. Some have had success with no service for years...others have had problems shortly after arrival. Try looking up the IWC Portuguese mod using graphite lubrication. That might help keep things going.
yodap Posted September 3, 2008 Author Report Posted September 3, 2008 Thanks, maybe I'll be able to change it for another piece...
