Swiss or Asian?

I'm wondering if someone were to lift the spring part of the swan neck over the dagger and force it up toward the top of the movement, if this would bend it slightly and put more pressure on the dagger eliminating the problem...Just a thought. I'll try it on my sterile ebay movement.

I've done just that, and it does work. I lifted the spring part over the regulator and increased the tension of it, then put it back in place. When I regulated the mvmt that portion wouldn't touch anymore, so I just bent it closer. Also, if I remember correctly, my screw for the swan regulator was actually a pin, not a screw.

The safest way to tell if a 6497 movement is all asian or with swiss parts is to look ath the center wheel and the Pallet bridge. If the center wheel has the big teeth (low-beat 18000bph) and the pallet bridge is round with 2 screws the movement is swiss based (only base plate and gears, the OP XI style bridges in our rep movements are asian).
