fitmic
Is this an Asian or Swiss UNITAS 6497??? Paul offers it for $189 only! If it is an Asian, are they THAT bad?
Watchmeister
Swiss unless the Chinese fabricators have elected to add a swan neck and it even looks like the next gen. I had noticed that too but have not ordered from Paul since oriiginal crazy sale. It is cheaper to buy the whole watch and transplant the movement than to buy a movement only from others. No, these CN mvts. are not bad, please read The Zigmeister's review. It is even possible to add gen swiss parts (I already swapped a swiss canon pin set). But as kruzer said: I too assume the mvts. will be swiss made. We all know what swiss made really means... Of course it is not a secret that most of industrial work is sourced out. fitmic
I got an e-mail reply from Paul, and he confirmed the movement being swiss.
shultz
I just opened my 127 with swan neck mvt. and I could see the ETA 6497 engravings on the ground plate. That means it is a swiss made mvt. (but please note my outsourcing argument...)
