Estaban Posted July 12, 2006 Report Posted July 12, 2006 I found this watch at a local store. Retails for $1300, selling for $450. 44mm. Swiss ETA movement. Probably around 15mm thick. Very solid piece. Nice rubber strap. I can't find ANY information on this exact watch, but I like it. What do you guys think? I know, it's a gen
Highflyingclive Posted July 12, 2006 Report Posted July 12, 2006 "Daniel Mink" is not listed on the official Swiss watch industry website: http://www.fhs.ch/en/links.php Another Montres Wassname, perhaps? Timezone gives them a mention: http://www.timezone.com/library/news/news631793746206875000 If you like it, buy it... but armed with the knowlege that it may not be entirely Swiss, haggle hard.
sevomd Posted July 13, 2006 Report Posted July 13, 2006 This might help in knowing a little about the company. Based out of Biel, Switzerland. http://www.tourbillon-watches.com/tourbill...tm&house=21 I personally think its nice but for that price and if I wanted a gen, I would probably get a Schaumberg(NauticFish) on the bay. http://cgi.ebay.com/NAUTIFISCH-DIVER-CHRON...1QQcmdZViewItem Last one went for $600. archibald Posted July 13, 2006 Report Posted July 13, 2006 Nice watch, looks a little like the gorgeous Chopatd Luc Diver, but no way that thing is worth $450, let alone $1350 or whatever MSRP Daniel Mink's marketing department decided to put on it. Think about it: Stainless steel watch, w/ a stock 2824 probably, rubber strap, a brand nobody ever heard of. You should know better, Estaban...
700club Posted July 13, 2006 Report Posted July 13, 2006 Daniel Mink is very large in the watch industry. Currently he is building watches for Shopnbc under the name Renato.
Craytonic Posted July 13, 2006 Report Posted July 13, 2006 no, don't pay .25 for something that costs a dollar you don't need; ignore price and ask if it is worth 350 to you.
