is there a possibilty to change the crystal of SSDv1, because bezel doesnt seem to be the problem but the crystal.

maybe it is possible to swap with a cyclops removed submariner crystal

BK did an extensive write-up of the gen vs. SSD crystal. I believe he showed how the SSD crystal was unique to the SSD. My guess would be no, you cannot exchange a rep sub crystal with the SSD V1 crystal.

Here is an idea, you can get a SSD V2 case/crystal from BK for $80. That should solve your issue. here is the link:

Lastly, contrary to what you posted, BK seems to think the problem was with the bezel and not the crystal. He mentions this is his article.

you could try a cheap 14060 aftermarked crystal from ebay -

i think i could fit ..... well maybe .... worth the try

Duh, it just occurred to me the the crystal diameters are different for SDs and Subs...so the answer is a resounding no

A nodate Sub Crystal has the same diameter than the SD.

But its not thick as on the SD.

I think a aftermarket one will not really fit the SSD.
