sbh718
I just received my Breitling SOH Chrono from Andrew at TT-beautiful rep, nice AR and nice feel (I already have a blue SOH). But the color isn't brown, or bronze, but a very dark reddish brown. The only SOH I have seen at an AD is actually brown, or brownish bronze, not red, so I am wondering if the factory got the color wrong on this version. Any thoughts? Is there a brown SOH out there that accurately replicates the color of the gen brown dial/bezel SOH? And if so, where do I get it? This is a very pretty rep--and I have a number of reps--but I am afraid it isn't close to the gen. Anyone have any thoughts or advice?

To add to this saga, Andrew offered to send me a black bezel and dial. I have bought a lot of watches from him, so I was a little surprised he didn't offer to make an exchange, or find the one in the right color. Any thoughts on this? Should I accept the black bezel and dial and get a watchsmith to to the replacement? Or can I find a gen bezel and dial in the right color and have that done? I need help here! Mickey Padge
Well I think that is very generous of the dealer, considering there is no way he could find another brown colour, they will all be exactly the same.... If you read through the forums and reviews of this watch, you will see many people commenting on the red tint the brown dial has, which seems to be exaggerated in certain lighting conditions.... It is a beautiful watch, I would keep as is if the dial and hands are "clean" and free from dust/marks etc.... Cheers!

Thanks for the advice--maybe I will just keep it, since it is a gorgeous watch as is, just not a bronze one. Do you know, or does anyone know, if the regular 46mm SOH --not the new chrono but the "ultimate" that Andrew, Josh, Jay and others sell--is closer in color to the bronze gen? I saw a bronze one at an AD and had to have this one, but unfortunately, the rep in this case doesn't come close to replicating the right color and is very obvious to anyone who knows Breitlings. hiker01
I have the non-chrono version in brown! Why don't you post some pictures and we could compare?
sbh718
I have the non-chrono version in brown! Why don't you post some pictures and we could compare? Never posted a picture, but will as soon as I figure it out. Does your brown look bronze or maroon? My belief, looking at the websites, is that the non-chrono is a different color and closer to the gen than the chrono, even if Andrew says they both come from the same factory. sbh718
This may be more than anyone cares about with this rep, but I went to an AD today and checked out the bronze SOH Chrono. It is copper/bronze, and absolutely not the same color as the maroon/red dial and bezel on the "brown" SOH Chrono I bought from Andrew. Not complaining necessarily, since Andrew says he is sending me a black bezel and dial that I can have someone else install, but just an advisory that it looks like most of the "brown" SOH Chronos on dealer websites are as red/maroon as they look in pix, and are definitely not true to the color of the gen. The maroon is a pretty watch color and it's tempting to keep it, but if I can find an authentic looking brown SOH--in the same color as the gen-- I might get that too. BTW, the Breitling AD bronze Ocean Racer strap is $410 with clasp, and Walt at Lonestarwatches has, or will have, in stock the 24mm Staib stainless mesh bracelet, which looks pretty close to the SS Ocean Classic official Breitling bracelet. (I previously bought a 24 mm Juergens SS Mesh bracelet, but I have been told they will be out of stock on the 24 mm until Christmas.)
