indyberetta Posted November 1, 2008 Report Posted November 1, 2008 I have an older Rolex (tudor)movment that runs great, but the movement has the brass colored metal showing in some places and not in others. Is there a way to plate the movement when it is apart for servicing next time? I just think it would look better as I have replaced the solid caseback with a see thru one.
freddy333 Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 I think the original parts were plated with rhodium. I am sure there are high end plating companies that could replate the individual parts for you, but I have never done this (or would want to), so I cannot tell you who. But I would think that a company that makes medical grade instrumentation ought to be able to handle it. I would also think it would be very expensive.
