hey guys i need to repair one of my submariner ss band that some how lost the part indicated on the pic below .

what is the proper name for that part & how can i repair it ?

can i use a regular spring bar to hold it in place ?

Frei and Borel sell those... they're two-piece rivets that press in from either side and meet in the middle someplace. Friction fit.

I wouldn't use a springbar, and doubt you could find one that would slide in there. Too iffy... the fliplock u-shaped piece could pop right off the end of the springbar. You need security there to keep your watch on your wrist.

In an emergency a piece of wire jammed through there and folded over will sorta work. Or put the watch in your backpack and carry it home that way.

I expect that Nanuq could let you have a piece of fence-wire that will do.

He uses it in it electrical installations because, despite the advances in electro-mechanical technology, modern science has yet to come up with fuse-wire that is man enough to do the job... :lol:
