TimeOut Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 Hi, I bought a PAM 212 chrono with Asia 7750 w/ 28800bph. The chrono second hand was perfectly centered on the 12 when I first got the watch. But lately I've noticed that the second hand is slightly off to the right (at 12:01) upon reset. Is there anything I can do to correct this? Thanks!
szvwj Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 It depends on exactly what the problem is, but I had a similar problem with my Navitimer and the following thread helped me: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...mp;#entry508530
TimeOut Posted November 13, 2008 Author Report Posted November 13, 2008 Thanks. I didn't even consider that the second hand might be slipping. I figured the A7750 movement might be sticking somewhere... I had another PAM w/ same movement that did the same, but much worse. I wonder if this is a common problem.
szvwj Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 I can't say for sure that this is the problem you're having, but it's certainly worth looking at. It definitely turned out to be the issue for my Navitimer. Every time I reset the Chrono, it would stop in a different location. In fact, I could even tap on the side of the watch to get the chrono hand to move (it was really loose). None of my other watches have this problem, so I don't know how common it is.
TimeOut Posted November 13, 2008 Author Report Posted November 13, 2008 Mine may be a different problem. It always resets to the same 12:01 mark.
sssurfer Posted November 14, 2008 Report Posted November 14, 2008 If the hand is not slipping, taking it out and placing it back in the correct position should solve the problem.
ajoesmith Posted November 14, 2008 Report Posted November 14, 2008 Try this 1 - Start the Chrono 2 - Let it run for 40secs 3 - Stop the chrono 4 - Reset Do this a few times and see what happens

Weird. I might just take it to a watchsmith and have them fix it. Btw, LOVE your avatar. Edited November 14, 2008 by TimeOut

Not sure if that'll work because it was perfectly agligned when new, that's why I'm thinking something is loose. I've only worn this watch about 5 times.
szvwj Posted November 14, 2008 Report Posted November 14, 2008 If every time you reset your Chrono it gets further off, I'd suspect that your hand is slipping and that you probably need to do what I previously recommended. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...mp;#entry508530 Having said that, taking it to a watchsmith is a VERY good idea.
