Help! 089 CG Problem!

Hi all! I just got some 400 grit sandpaper out to sand down my 089 CG lever pin. Worked just fine, but I accidentally wore some of the masking tape off of the crown guard while sanding, so it was a bit scratched! So I got my polishing cloth out and polished it!! Well, now i have a polished crown guard on my 089!! Can I just resand it with the 400 grain sandpaper and bring it back to normal!?! What shall I use!?!?

Thanks Chief! Ya know, I just took a chance and just cranked on it with the 400grit sandpaper and it turned out great! Alls well that ends well! Thanks for the heads up though! Heck...here's a pic of the finished product!
