www_watch Posted July 19, 2006 Report Posted July 19, 2006 Hi! I wonder if it would be possible to have the lug holes drilled through on Rolex reps like GMT Master II, Submariner etc. I know... we waited a long time for the reps without the holes to arrive. But on some models I´d prefer to have the holes, like on the GMT II. I just like the look. I assume this would have to be done from the inside of the lug, through the existing hole. Maybe I´m asking for something completely impossible? Yes, not much space for any tools between those lugs...... Maybe one of our modding wizards can clear this up? Thanks!
Linder Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 I've thought about this myself and could not find a good way to drill from the inside. I think a milling machine from the outside would work well but I believe Joe uses a jeweler's drill press and drills from the outside.
bruce79 Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 Perhaps this is a stupid question but why wouldn't you just select a watch that already has lug holes and drill those to the right diameter? I've never heard of anyone giving a watch lug holes that didn't already have them before.

The problem is that reps with lug holes are a rare find these days. For example I couldn´t find a dealer offering a nice GMT II with the holes.
