Daytona4me
Note to Admin/Mod.. not sure if you want this in General Discussion or not.. but it might be a helpful reference tool to keep around if you dont already have it. This is an updated list through the 3rd Quarter of 2008 I think it is difficult for people to wrap their minds around the many groups who own dozens of popular watches. You dont realize it until you start looking at movements and parts, etc.. and then it starts to become more obvious. Only the real nerds might find this handy but I have seen a couple questions lately that led to typing this out from watchtime. One thing that has baffled me after reading who owns who is that I have been told by many people that Wittnauer was made by the same company as Movado... and this simply is not true. ?? Anyone else here that ?? Maybe true at one time?? I dont know ?? Swatch Group (Switzerland) Breguet Blancpain Glasshutte Original Union Glashutte Tiffany & Co. Jaquet Droz Leon Hatot Omega Longines Rado (seanf's favorite) Tissot CK/Calvin Klein Balmain Hamilton Certina Mido Swatch Richemont Group (Switzerland) Cartier Van Cleef & Arpels Piaget A. wiseman
Quite interesting to see the ownerstructure behind a lot of brands. A little like the consumer-market, where for instance Unilever and the Nestle Group owns a lot of brands that you didnt know was connected. Perhaps getting some shares in these groups would be worthwile? EDIT: Here are some pages for investors for two of the groups above: Swatch Group: http://www.swatchgroup.com/en/investor_rel...ns/share_quotes The shareprice has gone down significantly since Q1/2008 it seems, but is on the rise again. Maybe now would be a good time to invest? Richemont: http://www.richemont.com/share_price.html Edited November 25, 2008 by wiseman

Tag Heuer is owned by Moet Hennessey Louis Vuitton?? And so is Hublot? I guess now I have a really good reason not to buy any these watches.
