Ok, dumn question . . . am I correct that the 16 lines refers to a sizing system? If so, how does that convert to metrics? Or, am I out in left field somewhere?

The ligne a measurement in use before the metric system was adopted.

I believe the conversion is 1mm = 0.45L?
