New Full Ceramic HBB

Angus just had it listed on his site:

HBB-2008-12-05-04-01.JPG

First I got really excited!

I want to get a full ceramic HBB but all pieces that have been released so far have some flaws.

All Blacks have wrong datewheel and I am not sure if markers and hand are appropriately black.

Ice Bang is very close but has a PVD coated bezel that is not made of the material used in gen.

The closest one is probably a Black Magic but it is somehow very boring with the plin dial from SS model.

And now it is this Gstaad! All materials just like they should be.

Then I found this pic:

Gen watch in the above pic has skeleton hands with no lume and ribbed strap that we do not have repped as of yet.

Dang.

But after some more research it turned out it really is true about Hublot and their unbelievable inconsistency when it comes to their models.

Look at these gen pics:

Not only lumed hands but also regular smooth rubber strap!

So this rep is really VERY very good.

Last thing is the caseback. Rep is using regular ceramic caseback while I am afraid this one should have a different one as it was limited to 250 pieces.... will try to find a pic of gen casebck and post here.

Anyway I need to say this watch is really tempting for me....

Think last one is a concept model. Also dial is not good, colors of lettering is different than rep. never will be a perfect rep I guess with HBB if it's a special model. These models are based on pictures not with a gen in the hands of the maker

On the topic of accuracy, I noticed the dial colour on the gen is different than rep. Whereas the rep has the whole dial (including the Gstaad logo) in the same shade, the gen has the logo in a notably brighter color tone than the rest of the dial. Quite a big tell really.
